Welcome to Peter Doyle Consultancy P/L
Peter Doyle Consultancy P/L (PDC) is an Australian owned company specialising
in hydroponic consultancy work and hydroponic fodder production. Our company
is based in Victoria Australia, where we practice what we preach
on our own commercial hydroponic farm. Our interstate consultants are also hydroponic
farmers, which enables them to pass on practical, high quality knowledge
to existing and prospective clients.
International
inquiries are also welcomed, where we can either consult for you directly,
or forward your inquiry to one of our international network of consultants.
In particular, we specialize in the following areas:
1. NFT & Channel-Based Systems, large or small.
2. NFT Trouble-Shooting.
3. Hydroponic Farm Evaluations.
4. Environmental Control Systems.
5. Making the Right Hydroponic Choice.
6. On-Site Consultancy.
7. Hydroponic Fodder Production.
1. NFT & Channel-Based Systems.
PDC specialises in designing and building recirculating systems,
in particular using the highly efficient Nutrient Film Technique (NFT)
method. Each system is custom built to meet the clients needs,
budget and market, with an emphasis on providing a strategy that will
ensure simple, productive operation and a consistently high quality end
product. We can also supply the individual components of NFT systems,
such as the channel and nutrients, for further details have a look at
our Products section.
No project is too large or too small. To date we have designed commercial
systems from 20,000 square meters, right down to 20 square meters, and
we are equally comfortable with both large and small systems.
2.
NFT Trouble-Shooting.
To date we have not encountered an NFT problem we have not been able to
fix. As NFT is a relatively simply concept the simple remedy generally
works, and it is this principle that we generally try to apply when trouble
shooting. Normally, this translates into very quick response times, and
lower bills for customers!
3. Hydroponic Farm Evaluations.
At some point you may wish to sell your farm, or, you may require an evaluation
for insurance purposes. In either case we are able to supply you with
a farm value based on current market expectations.
Another option you may wish to consider is to lease your commercial hydroponic
system; again we are able to give you advice based on our own practical
experience in this matter.
4. Environmental Control Systems.
While greenhouses might be identical in structure, and located on the
same tract of land, their respective climatic conditions can often be
quite different. Hence the need for good, practical and above all relevant
advice on types of climate control systems, and which one would be best
suited to your particular circumstances.
There are many different commercial systems and methods to choose from,
selecting the right one often makes the difference between a successful
venture or a failed one. We have extensive experience with most of the
systems on the market today, as well as close links with the manufacturers
of these systems, and as such feel that we are in a good position to offer
advice on this aspect of your farm.
5.
Making the Right Hydroponic Choice.
Making the right Hydroponic Choice(choice of crop) is probably
the most important decision you will make. While a prospective market
is essential, you should also choose a crop you are literally physically
capable of growing. Growing hydroponic lettuce is totally different
to growing hydroponic tomatoes. While lettuce and herbs require your attention
on most days the work is essentially light in nature, however, tomatoes
can be physically very demanding as a crop. Apart from having to carry
or handle the heavier fruit (its not hard to imagine that a box
of tomatoes weighs considerably more than a box of basil), going up and
down ladders where layering is required can be very tiring
indeed. We always try to make sure that prospective clients are given
some hands on experience with their chosen crop before setting up their
own system (if required).
6. On-Site Consultancy.
In many cases, to make an accurate assessment on either existing or prospective
commercial systems an on-site inspection may be required. PDC can provide
you with this service both locally in Australia and overseas.
7. Hydroponic Fodder Production.
See our Livestock Fodder Shed System for further details.
